Meet the Founder

My name is Shirin Akter, and my journey with education began long before DreamEd Foundation was born.

Growing up in Bangladesh, I witnessed firsthand how the right book, the right tool, or the right mentor could completely transform a child's future. That experience never left me, it followed me across oceans.

I completed my Honours and Master's degree in English Language and Literature from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh. Driven by an unrelenting passion for education, I then came to Canada to pursue my MEd (Master's of Education) from the University of Saskatchewan. It was there, immersed in world-class learning environments, that my vision became crystal clear. I saw educational materials, game-based learning tools, and children's developmental products that were engaging, research-backed, and truly effective — resources that most children in Bangladesh had never even heard of.

After completing my degree, I felt a deep urge from my heart: I must establish DreamEd.

Why DreamEd?

DreamEd Foundation was born from that calling — to bridge the gap and introduce the right materials, services, and children's educational products, including game-based learning equipment, to Bangladesh in a way they have never been introduced before.

“Dream” because every learner deserves to dream big. “Ed” because education is the bridge that makes those dreams possible.

We are more than a store — we are a movement for a more educated, empowered Bangladesh.

My IELTS & English Teaching Journey

With 16 years of teaching experience, I have built deep expertise in English language education. I have helped hundreds of students achieve their IELTS target scores and unlock life-changing opportunities. My passion led me to author three books designed specifically for Bangladeshi learners:

I also provide English Teaching Training Services to institutions, equipping them with professional training, curated materials, and structured curriculum, empowering educators to deliver better outcomes for their students.
